Things to do
Taste the estate's own coffee four ways, from a light roast to our strong filter blend, in the old roasting shed. You leave knowing how to brew it at home.
Rapids on the Kaveri near Dubare, with a guide and all the gear. We drive you there and back, and pack lunch for the ride home. Open from October to May.
Kingfishers, bulbuls and, if you are lucky, a hornbill. Our naturalist brings binoculars and a flask of coffee, and knows where the birds feed.
Cook pandi curry, kadambuttu and bamboo shoot curry with our kitchen team, then sit down and eat what you made.
On clear nights we set up a telescope on the pool deck. The sky is darkest between December and March.

A working coffee estate, with room for guests
Cardamom Hollow is a 40-acre coffee and cardamom estate in the hills west of Madikeri. The same family has farmed it for three generations, and it still sends its coffee to market every winter. We built 24 cottages among the shade trees, a pool on the edge of the slope and a kitchen that cooks with what grows here. Mornings are for walks through the coffee. Afternoons are for the pool, a book and the view.
